Taking place between 26 October and 1 November, the Bermuda Championship is one of the PGA Tour’s newest events, and according to Betfred’s golf analysts could pose hurdles for some of the sports contenders.

Appearing on The Betfred Golf Show, former professional golfer Simon Dyson gave his tips for the tournament, arguing that Brandon Wu, Graeme McDowell and Russell Knox could be among the players who break the bookies at this year’s Bermuda Championship.

“We mention Webb Simpson a lot for courses that really suit his game, and it’s going to be the same this week. Obviously he’s not in the field, but you’re going to be looking for a Webb Simpson-type player who strikes the ball lovely, hits a lot of fairways, hits a lot of greens and gives a lot of good chances to themselves.”

Observing that as a coastal course, he added that the best player this week will be one who hits the greens and fairways as their main strategy, and is a ‘good putter’.

Moving onto the players, Dyson highlighted Graeme McDowell’s driving accuracy and his ability to consistently hit greens; Russell Knox’s general skills as a player, his record in major tournament and his regular fairway hits; and lastly cited Brandon Wu’s past in the Walker Cup, where the American ‘stood out a mile’ in his team.
